When it comes to childcare, nothing this country does makes any sense. Maternity is only one year (if you’re lucky), but you only get free child care from 2. And even then it’s the equivalent of 1 1/2-2days. Schools hours are 9-3 but work is 9-6. None of it makes any sense.
