After the wars, British suppressed the Dutch culture and language. Schools taught English. UK gave up South Africa in 1961. Not being wise guy, just love history!

They fought the British during 2 nasty Boer Wars 1880-1902 which a young Winston Churchill was a war correspondent who was captured but escaped. Weird how history could have changed.
