I think this really intricate relationship the FRC windows have on the usage of the move is really cool and the restriction breeds a lot of creativity. Also, most FRCs are NOT necessary for beginners, and can be worked into your arsenal pretty naturally as you get better.

Dizzy’s ice spike FRC is a 2 frame FRC with a pretty unintuitive window, but it’s function is clearly defined (convert midscreen hits into oki, make a blocked/whiff callout safe).

I disagree with the notion that you “need” any of these. Yes, they help, and in some cases, like gunflame FRC, they REALLY help, but you can totally get into the game without worrying about it for awhile and there are a bunch of resources to assist learning
