@rootbxtch I forgot the extremely detailed sex scenes in New Spring that bordered on pornographic to the point that the book was banned in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

Is there anything more gay and retarded in fiction than villains who are trying to destroy the universe but who draw a hard line at racism? Is there anything more gay and retarded in politics than the childish "memes" of, "[Fictional character] hates Republicans"?

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor To demonstrate a change in the character from two Rivers woman to Aes Sedai hanger on. A scene that doesn't happen in the show. Nor did it require a cliff.

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor Jordan mentioned it in a single line that also included her description. The show didn't need to give her overall description. The same info could have been provided by Mat teasing Rand about getting married soon. Their goal was to get the retarded line about womanhood in.

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor You understand the absurdity of casting a young adult to play a teenager, and then spending a decent chunk of your pilot to hold a ritual to tell everybody that she's a young adult?

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor Rand is 20 at the beginning of EotW. You couldn't tell a 25 year old is an adult?

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor You can't determine her age by looking at her? This show made a big deal about aging up the characters. Her peers (Perrin) are married. This was entirely self indulgent film making.

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor But this didn't develop Egwene? She's not making decisions. She's not taking action. This doesn't tell us anything about her character, does it?

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor Opportunity cost. 5 minutes of baptizing Egwene is 5 minutes that you didn't get of Tam fighting Trollocs.

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor But this isn't the men and women working together. It's just the women. Just like it was the women shoving the men around at the bar, and just the women fighting the Trollocs. Baptizing Egwene is a bizarre choice from the get go. It doesn't achieve anything. It's just a vibe.

@mikewhomwrites @TheWheelOfTime @TGAuthor How long were they supposed to spend on the "Egwene is a special girl" aspect of the pilot? Between this and shoving her off the cliff you've got 2x 2.5 minute scenes. That's 9% of the episode that does nothing for plot or characterization or world building.

@Salty_Texas_C Given all this shit that's come out, I would understand why Europeans hate us. Except that they don't hate us for this legitimate stuff, they hate us for other nonsensical shit, leaving me to believe it really is just jealousy.

RT @_Sb129_: So the Wheel of Time show also doesn't know what the Horn of Valere is supposed to look like, am I surprised? Not particularly…

@mikewhomwrites @IamVendel While possible, unless you think she's going to die in the intro when Liandrin and the Black Ajah breaks out, the only real stepping out point after that is the coup. Do you think that's happening early in the season?

@mikewhomwrites @IamVendel It's addressed directly in TGH. Redemption is always possible, but it would require one of the greatest writing performances in the history of television from one of the worst production teams I've ever seen. I'm talking about consecutive hole-in-ones at Augusta levels of luck.

@mikewhomwrites @IamVendel Them getting frisky as teenagers, yes. Them having a decades long relationship? Not at all. Both end up with men in the end. It derails the themes as far as opportunity costs. If 25% of the show is focused on Aes Sedai shit. That leads directly to the undercooked EF3.

@mikewhomwrites @IamVendel The White Tower's isolationist principles leads to far fewer children being born (and the White Tower being terrible at everything) with the ability to channel in each generation. It's not a coincidence that just about every gendered organization (including the WT) is awful.
