It's never too late to recommend 1844's "Les Trois Mousquetaires" (The Three Musketeers) by Alexandre Dumas, a great literary work recorded in French language. The story follows D'Artagnan, a young guy that dreams of becoming a musketeer, as he arrives to Paris and finds himself befriended by three experienced musketeers (Athos, Porthos, and Aramis) and they become caught up in political intrigue and court dramas.

In Victorian #England, taking photographs of loved ones after they died was an affordable and popular trend. Girl shown in this picture passed away hours earlier. What may seem morbid to modern sensibilities was a way of commemorating the dead and blunting the sharpness of grief.
