This one plume came from a nearby refinery. You can see similar phenomena across PA from the Nuclear Plants. But why is this
As we feared. Not a good situation developing this morning, with a very heavy band of rain parked over the NYC metro.
If you can, please do not travel through flooded roads. This is a webcam image taken in Brooklyn and shows just how much water is pooling on the road, with a
Well, here it is! Not the final map, because snowfall maps are never final, but it's looking like a classic "I-95" storm; with the bulk of the snow staying NW and more rain farther SE. One thing to really take note is the circled red area from NYC to NW of DC.
This is going to
Here's our take on this upcoming storm. It's a tricky one, with that sharp gradient across southern CT-MA into Northern NJ. Any slight wobbles in track can shift things a bit, but looks like interior NE gets the heaviest from this dynamic storm

On this day, over 130 years ago, a slow moving area of low pressure brought as much as 6-10" of rainfall to Central PA, leading to one of the worst engineering disasters in the United States up to that point in history.
A significant snowstorm continues across Virginia and North Carolina this morning. High pressure over the Northeast will be just strong enough to keep the storm from impacting Washington, DC before it heads out to sea tomorrow.
Our Nor'easter is strengthening off the coast of NJ this morning, with bands of heavy snow already pivoting into Central/Northern NJ. What are you seeing out there?

A quiet Sunday afternoon here across the state...or is it? 🤔🤔
What appear to be multiple areas of showers are actually just smoke plumes from controlled burns being picked up by the radar. 🤓

Trends continue to shift towards a western track for Tropical Storm Henri (shown below in the forecast tracks). Mainly, this shift is due to slightly more ridging north & east of Henri & an upper low trending slightly SW. This situation will act to draw Henri closer to the coast.

This also allows dry air into the system, which limits additional thunderstorm activity!
