Typical flight time for BA195 is ~9:40. This was a 9 hour flight that returned to its origin.
I'm trying to think of a "technical fault" where it makes more sense to cross the Atlantic a second time rather than land, even if not at the planned destination.

Hard to tell, but at first glance this looks like the "plug" they put in at the exit towards the back of the MAX 9 or -900s. It is an exit door on the 8200 or high density 9/900, but they can plug it for lower density configs.
