Waltham Firefighter Dan Steede retires today after 26 years of dedicated service to the City of Waltham. Dan was a career long member of Group 2 Moody St. and Ladder 2. Dan’s last drive in Ladder 2 was captured this morning. We wish you the best and you will be missed.
Senior Firefighter Cesar Castillo was given the

badge today in honor of him being the senior most firefighter on the Waltham Fire Department. Cesar was hired in 1989 and has served Waltham for 35 years.
One of the departments biggest supporters is in need of our prayers. 4 year old Max McCormick was seriously injured in a car accident last week while traveling through Vermont. He is currently in a medically induced coma as he fights to recover from his injuries.

The Moody Street Fire Station is now open and fully operational. All trucks (E1, Squad 5, Ladder 2, Car 2 and the Moody St. Boat) have returned. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to follow with a date TBD.

4 years ago today, Waltham Firefighters battled a 10 alarm fire at 20 Cooper St. mutual aide from 19-different communities responded to assist in battling the massive fire at a under construction wood frame apt complex.
As of 0700 hours the morning Armstrong Ambulance is the new provider of EMS to the City of Waltham. A sincere welcome to Armstrong Ambulance and we look forward to many years of dedicated services to the citizens of Waltham.

Waltham Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of former Waltham Firefighter Lou Ruiz. Lou was appointed to the department on 6/6/2004 and served the City of Waltham until 3/21/2017. Rest in Peace Lou
Captain John Bonadio orchestrated a makeover to the Fire Fighter and Police Memorial over the past week. Thanks to all involved in the work and special thanks to Leone Landscaping for the donation of the stepping stones. We can all agree that this looks awesome.
Waltham Firefighters joined other fire departments Friday when they received a Thin Blue Line flag to honor a police officer killed in the line of duty. They were joined by Waltham Police Officers to recognize late Weymouth Police Sergeant Michael Chesna.

97 year old retired Firefighter Bowen Campbell came by Moody St. Station and donated a new photo for the station. He was taken on a tour of the new station by Chief MacInnis and Mayor McCarthy.
