Update on Box 426 for 31 Lee St: a dryer fire has been extinguished with no extension, holding Engines 5 & 6, Ladders 1 & 3, with Division 1, other companies are clearing. Group 4 on duty.

This week, all fire companies are reviewing surface ice & water rescue procedures using the Mustang suits & MARSARS rescue system. The temp at Fresh Pond is 22 degrees w a 14 degree wind chill. Group 4 is on duty for today's drills. @MARSARSEquip

On this Burn Awareness Week 2025 (& every week) always use caution when cooking. Prevent burn & scald injuries. Maintain that "no-kid zone" and "no-pet zone" around the stove, oven, and hot liquids. Prevent burn & scald injuries to our kids and pets. @CambHealth.
It's #BurnAwarenessWeek, and this year's theme is "Burn Prevention Starts Where You Live." Of the 275 severe burns logged in the Massachusetts Burn Incident Reporting System last year, more than 2/3 took place at home and over 40% involved young children:

#SprinklerSave: A few days ago, a kitchen fire in a 7th floor apt in a high-rise in North Cambridge was contained by 1 operating sprinkler head. Fire companies quickly arrived to overhaul & ventilate. The fire was contained to the kitchen & no injuries were reported.

This past week, a burning candle caused a contents fire in a 17th floor apartment in a building in East Cambridge. Fortunately the fire was contained & quickly extinguished. - Always use caution with candles.- Keep them away from combustibles.Keep your home fire safe!
