.@MassFireMarshal yesterday recognized Mass Fire Academy staff who leapt into action during a medical emergency on campus last week. They're all active or retired firefighters so some couldn't make it to the ceremony, but they're all deeply appreciated:

DFS, @MassMPTC, @EOPSS, & @C3NCIER last week delivered another Active Shooter Incident Management course. Subject matter experts led law enforcement, fire/rescue, emergency management, and telecommunicators through presentations, case studies, and scenario-based exercises.

February 4 is #WorldCancerDay. Firefighters face a greater risk of developing certain cancers, developing them earlier in life, and receiving a late diagnosis than the public they protect. DFS offers free cancer screenings for Massachusetts firefighters:

It's #BurnAwarenessWeek, and this year's theme is "Burn Prevention Starts Where You Live." Of the 275 severe burns logged in the Massachusetts Burn Incident Reporting System last year, more than 2/3 took place at home and over 40% involved young children:
