@JanRovny @JakeMGrumbach @YamilRVelez This wasn't a critique of your thesis, which I think is right. Shifts in PID are impt, though. And this started before 2024 among younger cohorts. Education correlates with it (gender, too). My hunch is that this has to do with social-cultural attitudes.

There is more work to be done, but these findings paint a consistent picture. Facebook seems to make people a bit less happy, but also informs them about politics a little. Nudges do little to help. Plus, temporarily giving up Facebook has relatively small effects. /end
