The suburbs are unhinged. This is literally to put sidewalks in the ROW of Shaker Blvd, S Woodland Rd, and Lander Rd without any tax increase. What the everliving f*ck.
@NPR
Ah, the "free market" that republicans love so much goes down once again. Crazy how in times of panic capitalism just don't make sense to us average joes.
120 miles. Two bottles of electrolyte crap. 6(?) Water bottle fills. Two protein bars. One sammy and fries. Couple wrong turns. And I can successfully say I've ridden the "bounding area" of

Now time for 47 pizzas.

A state rep who doesn't come to Cleveland outside of the St Patrick's Day parade wants to take away something that will benefit CLEVELAND residents year-round. Same as it ever was.
The suburbs and rural Ohio run this state and it's so frustrating.
ACTION ALERT: Save the Midway. Language has been added to HB23, the state Transportation Budget, that would prohibit building the Superior Midway. Contact the Ohio House and Senate Finance Committees today using our action alert.
This article is amazing. These folks feel SO comfortable spewing racism and tropes it's insane. Poverty totally absolutely doesn't exist in Geauga, it's ONLY a city issue. Sure, Jan.
A Christian nonprofit wants to build a small 8-10 bed women's homeless shelter in Munson Township. The town's residents came out in full force to kill it

Oh, I love this argument, please explain how NASA is useless please, especially while typing on a laptop or using a smartphone. I'll wait.
CLE reddit is pretty wild-the other day bbq joints were the topic and the "top ones" were all in the suburbs. Today, Hough= the most dangerous place in the world. Not saying crime isn't there but the dog whistles are strong with a lot of these responses.
What the fu¢k. Literally eff the George family and their stranglehold on Cleveland. If I parked here I'd be towed in 10 minutes.
How many times does this have to be reported for something to happen??

lol my family used to tow a boat with a ford aerostar, these people saying we need full size pickups for everything are nuts.
Volunteering today under the Detroit Superior Bridge took me back to my tourguide days. Really cool to talk to engineers and folks who are the history buffs. Fresh air is kinda nice though lol. Check it out tomorrow!
Tonight's bike commute view.
Finished the month 95% bus/bike (65/35%).
A lot less hardcore bike wise from previous years (thx rain). Even with fenders and clothes rain sucks! Bring on the snowy commutes.... Please.
I get it big storm, etc etc but there's no handicapped access to the Lorain Carnegie bridge bc of this at both ends. The city plowed the sidewalk but not this (or areas where peds need to cross). Maybe use NOACAs bike/ped count numbers to determine most important ped access pts?
Ok I get it, urbanist twitter can be so annoying but like, there's a law on the books to prevent contractors from killing sidewalk access yet this keeps happening. Don't worry traffic still maintains two lanes in each direction.
Not to start an e/w fight (whatever, fight me) but to me the e side is oodles more interesting to bike through, tons of cool arch/history and plenty of parallel roads to avoid traffic when things get spicy.
Give Hough, Glenny, Slavic, U-M, etc etc. a rip, it's worth it I swear!
I think about Cleveland’s strava heatmap all of the time - interesting that Chester/Euclid are the only routes connecting the Near West to any/all of the biking on the East side
.
@ohiogop
this is the road you're fighting for. This was taken at noon on a weekday. PS- Rep. Patton, you represent the airport and far reaches of Cleveland, nothing in downtown. Fake outrage to protect a parade.
@MissingMichiga1
@ewarren
This is such an old trope. Hillary lost the election herself. Maybe acting like it was in the bag the entire time was a mistake.
So long story short, my college buddies and I half joked about doing our sr year spring break in Detroit. "Spring Break Detroit!" Well 12 years ago today a $12 rt Megabus, cool couchsurfing host and lots of exploring led to a huge affinity for the place. The rustbelt rocks.
Mayor of Cleveland or running for Senate?
Look, I was a huge Bibb supporter but Cleveland is still looking pretty Cleveland these days. I'm sure changes are coming on behind the scenes but these photo ops are getting real old.
Mayor Justin Bibb in D.C. today at the Milken Institute's public finance forum with Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich. Bibb mentioned the fatal shooting of a student outside John Adams school. "We need a national campaign and a national moment in this country to address gun violence."
It's kind of shocking how fast the city can remove snow from (downtown) sidewalks when the All Star Game is a week out.
Meanwhile snow/ice mountain is still hanging around on the western side of the L-C bridge, a month later.
Nothing like a nice, chilly, post bills loss bike commute this morn lol
Seriously, credit where it's due- bridge plowed and salted. The crosswalk by gateway is another story, though.
This Frank Jackson BIG EVENT is so annoying- please, for the sake of Cleveland let the bleeding stop and just leave.
CLE needs visionary leadership: To the folks hanging onto power (and who have been) for decades, let go like your predecessors did and let the young leaders in!
Speaking of annoying bike twitter. Like .003% of Cle roads have a protected bike lane and some real estate schmucks happened to park in it today. Hope your house showing went well! (There's parking in the back).
Was gonna make a post about a car honking and passengers yelling at me to get off the road then them running two red lights after but decided to post a picture instead.
This group is full of a decent amount of butt opinions but the ppl commenting on this are really... something. How many ppl commenting that they hate it live in medina/geauga counties lol
Yesterday, car turned right in front of me trying to beat a light - driver got out yelling (pic) despite him almost killing me. Today, dude in a pickup pulls a uturn in front of Harry Buffalo dt and wonders why I was pissed and yells "why don't you use the xwalk!" Like wtf.
RTA drivers deserve more credit than they get. Really lucky to have them. And all of their support staff too! S/o to everyone ensuring the busses and trains run smoothly with extremely limited resources....
