Man City with a 400m defence, 400m midfield and 350m attack need at least 18 out of the remaining 21 points or 6 wins out of the last 7 games to finish with 81 points.
The last time a manager finished 81 points with a back 4 of Smalling and Jones, he was called finished.

Remember the manager of one team is a dinasour. The other is a modern attacking manager.
So glad the following is about to happen now that Jose is sacked.
-Lukaku's first touch will improve drastically
-Pogba will become consistent
-Rashford won't miss 1v1s
-Jones won't score his own team regularly
-Smalling will become a world class ball playing defender
Manchester City have now conceded more Premier League goals than Mourinho’s 04/05 Chelsea team with 24 games remaining. The most unbreakable record in football

Yea, a new manager blessed with facing teams sitting 17th, 18th and 20th and beating them is all you need to conclude that the previous manager was the problem.
Some of you are incredibly stupid.
De Rossi was named Roma Coach after Jose Mourinho was fired. Roma have played 3 games under him and won everything.
“Mourinho was working with trash players.”
@HKane
True to his words, he really helped you explode Harry. You’re a true professional who gets the job done no matter who the manager is. Trophy or not you’ll forever be one of my favorite footballers. What a truly fine and admirable sportsman.
My sources at Bayern are telling me Ole is likely to replace Nagelsmann.
The decision makers at Bayern are huge admirers of the former Man United manager.
They were largely impressed with his “cleared Mourinho’s mess” and “left a better squad behind” trophy.
Mourinho wins: He depends on Kane and Son
Mourinho loses: his tactics is outdated
Mourinho leaves: Club spends 80m on defenders and ships out 10 deadwood players.
Conte loses: Back Conte
Conte wins: United should have hired him
Rodríguez said to Sports Illustrated. "I said, 'The truth is I don't work for them.' I explained to him what happened, and he looked shocked.
He finished his duties as the equipment man but he never had the chance to thank Mourinho, and still doesn't have any contact details.
Lukaku doesn't fit into Ole's 5 wins in 20 games system but fits into the Inter team that is top of the Serie A table with a perfect start to the season.
If Sancho, Foden, Zinchenko couldn't start ahead of regular starters at Man City, why are we made to believe Jose Mourinho should have started De Bruyne, Salah and Lukaku ahead of Cesc Fabregas, Willian and Diego Costa/Fernando Torres in 2013.
First 7 games
Man United 17/18 under outdated Mourinho
Points: 19/21
Goals for: 21
Goals against: 2
Active in all 4 competitions
Man United 21/22 under modern attacking DNA merchant Ole
Points: 14/21
Goals for: 14
Goals against: 6
Active in 3 competitions
Rashford has scored again for England. Expect the following:
He plays better when he's with England
Southgate knows how to get the best out of him
Mourinho's tactics don't help his development
He will thrive under a Pep, Poch or Klopp
He needs to be starting for United
When Mourinho came 2nd, why didn’t United fans demand that Woodward gets him a right back, left back, right winger, attacking midfielder and center back to bridge the gap?
Why does Ole need a perfect squad to win the league?
Why can’t good coaching improve McTominay?
🕵️♂️ Paul Merson believes head coach Jose Mourinho's style of football does not suit Harry Kane and the Spurs striker will have a 'serious think' about his future at the end of this season:
❌ "I do not see him getting 25/30 goals next season."

Footballers are living in a completely different world. In which job on planet earth do you need extra motivation from your boss after making £290,000 in weekly wages.
If you think you're not motivated enough, why don't you try working in a cotton factory in far away Indonesia.
The number of bad records created by Ole as Manchester United manager.
To put this into perspective, only Ferguson has taken charge of more matches in the competition than Ole.
A thread:
Whoever brought Real Madrid form the mediocrity of 5 champions league round of 16 eliminations in a row to 3 semi finals in a row and eventually 4 champions league trophies in 5 years deserves a lot of praise.
Actually think Pep getting rid of Cancelo is what top level management should be. No player should get away with questioning your authority. Get your coat and go
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to win at least 9 of the remaining 10 Premier League games to get 69 points.
The same points Mourinho finished with in his first season at United. The 16/17 PL season.
The season he won the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League.
Under Tuchel
“Tammy Abraham didn’t fit his system so he had no option than to let him go”
Under Mourinho
“De Bruyne’s talent was there, he should have been patient with him and developed him further”
If you think Jose Mourinho shouldn't buy new additions but rather improve Jones, Smalling and Lindelof , then let's have Klopp improving Karius, Origi, Ings, Lallana, Matip and Pep improving Danilo, Bravo, Nolito, Mangala, Iheanacho.
Rodríguez lit up and said he would love to join them, insisting he would pay his own way. But Mourinho shook his head, smiled, and said: "When you're with me in Europe, you don't pay for s---."
You are the best football manager in the world. No one comes close.
You deserve better. I hope this event sends you on to even better opportunities.
Thank you for the memories and good luck!
Signing 28 year old players at Manchester United depends on who the manager is.
If it’s Mourinho, he’s signing deadwood for short term success.
If it’s Ole, he’s rebuilding and making progress.
It really is a very hypocritical fanbase if we’re being very honest.
No disrespect to Pep Guardiola as a football manager but when has he ever managed a football team in bad shape and in desperate need of rebuilding and resurgence.
A typical example is AC Milan. Can Pep do miracles at AC Milan?
After this league finish and an FA cup final, you back the manager.
Doesn’t take a masters degree in rocket science to know you’ll win more silverware if you back a manager who won 3 trophies followed by a second place finish and a cup final.
I’m starting to better understand why Mourinho joined Roma.
At the time, it looked like a reckless, rushed decision.
Makes a lot of sense now from a career/reputation point of view.
Manchester United have assembled a very strong team. One that is capable of beating any side in the world and dominating for years.
Only problem is, they currently are a reflection of their manager.
An awfully mediocre tactician who doesn’t inspire the hunger to win.
Spurs fan: Let’s hire Antonio Conte he’s doing great at Inter. He just won them the league.
Also Spurs fan: Mourinho has found his level in a shit league so he will do well.
When you call them stupid, they don’t understand.
This City team Pep inherited in 2016/17 wasn’t good enough by his standards so he went trophy-less.
The same team won a trophy and was a goal away from reaching the previous year’s UCL final.
Now imagine him working with this Roma squad. Would have been battling relegation.
I have not met Jose mourinho but i have read one interesting thing which i would like to share here. It is of a time when Mourinho was Real Madrid's manager.
I never thought Roma will make it this far in the Europa league this season to be honest.
They’ve exceeded expectations in Europe and have been inconsistent domestically which was an expected outcome of a 7m net spend.
@NoloFCB
It’s Spurs, United and Roma. Extremely difficult jobs. Might as well call Ancelotti all bark and no bite because he didn’t win with Everton.
Spurs and Roma last won a trophy in 2009, United waited 5 years post Mourinho and almost a billion pounds later to win a Carabao Cup.
Watching City vs Madrid and you ask yourself when Jose Mourinho last managed a team with this much quality in every department.
I’ll go as far back as Chelsea 14/15.
Man has been managing a lot of disjointed and unbalanced teams where he’s expected to turn water into wine.
When I look at United, a see a football club that missed that chance to rejoin the elite group in the summer of 17/18.
You finished 2nd, made a cup final, beat every team in the league.
You should have strengthened all while trusting a winner to take you to the next stage.
A tale of 2 United managers after finishing 2nd.
Mourinho after 81 points, qualifying from the UCL group and making a domestic cup final in 17/18.
-Lee Grant
-Fred
-Dalot
Ole after 74 points, elimination from the UCL group, UEL final defeat.
-Sancho
-Varane
-Ronaldo
@thfcadityav2
A lot of you try too hard to play down Mourinho’s accomplishments to the point where you even force it when it’s totally unnecessary.
Today is about Liverpool and Klopp, not Mourinho.
Why Klopp overtaking Mourinho is in a Spurs fans head, I’ll never quite understand.
Nowadays, there are
Man United-Pochettino fans,
Man United-Jardim fans and
Man United-Zidane fans.
This fanbase probably has the highest number of spoilt gloryhunters out there.
No idea what it means to support the club through hard times.
When Mourinho beat Brentford 2-0 to make the league cup final last season at Spurs, they were on a 16 game unbeaten run.
According to most spurs fans, that wasn’t a final worth celebrating because they didn’t eliminate prime United, City, Liverpool, Arsenal to get there.
After explaining his quixotic trip to Mourinho, everything changed for Rodríguez. The Special One instantly called for an assistant and arranged for Rodríguez to have his own room at the hotel where Real were staying for the Barcelona match.
Pep won the league with Barca.
All managers who have coached Barca except Tata Martino won the league too. Luis Enrique won all trophies Pep won at Barca. Valverde won back to back La Ligas.
All managers Bayern hired after Pep won the Bundesliga.
Why is Pep the only genius?
This incredible gesture was too much for him and he was overcome with tears of joy. The football gods had repaid him for 7 summers of voluntary work and he was about to join the entourage of one of the game's finest managers for a match "the world is waiting for".
Since his departure from United, there has been a lot of Mourinho disrespect originating mostly from football media.
I’ve tried to always keep a logical mind and remind people about the best judgments to make.
Today, I don’t care about haters.
All I know is time has spoken.
Mourinho told him "No way, you come to Manchester with us and work as a kit man,'' You help us and you live a bigger dream, a Champions League match from the inside!'"
After Ole's 8 wins in 8 games:
"Mourinho actually made us believe this squad lacks quality."
MUFC haven't scored for 4 hrs 40 mins and haven't scored from open play for 8 hrs 47 mins:
MUFC have 3 wins in 18 games:
"We must be patient. Ole needs time and 4-5 transfer windows"
Tammy Abraham, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner all not good enough strikers for Thomas Tuchel.
Change the manager’s name to Jose Mourinho and watch the faux outrage that follows from both the fans and media.
