Dear @DOGE - Here’s a fun “well” to dig into. @slocumfortexas is seemingly concerned about “orphaned wells” in the University Lands drilling areas of Texas. This peaked my interest as he claims the burden will fall on Texas tax payers. It seems the Texas UL system has received a lot of money earmarked to plug these many “orphaned” wells Tom Slocum speaks of. I’m curious. Can you add this to your growing list of wasted tax dollars to investigate and extend a full public report as to where all of these earmarked dollars went? Inquiring minds wanna know. “Texas received $79,673,757 in the first allocation of Formula Grant funds in January 2024. The state could receive up to $119.5 million Phase II of Formula Grant funding.” “Through the life of the program Texas could receive approximately $318.7 in Formula Grant funding based on current data estimates.
