Ventura College football coach Steve Mooshagian has announced 23 transfers from the 2019 Northern Conference champions, five mid-year transfers. Among the transfers and signees, 11 are moving on to NCAA D1, 8 to NCAA D2, 1 to NAIA and 3 to NCAA D3.

Ventura College head football coach Steve Mooshagian is set to be inducted into the CCCFCA Hall of Fame on Saturday March 9. Mooshagian, the head coach at VC since 2010, has been a part of California CC football since he played at Cerritos in 1977.

The VC Athletic Department is pleased to report 73 student athletes from 2019-20 are slated to transfer to 48 4-year institutions in 20 states in the fall. Of those transfers, 51 plan on continuing their athletic careers at their new school.

Assistant baseball coach Andrew Cotner passed away last week after a long health battle. The former left-handed hurler joined the Pirate staff in 2020 for VC's Covid-shortened campaign. His health issues prevented him from returning to the dugout in 2021.

The VC Athletics is mourning the loss of volleyball alumna Kirra Durry. The 24-year-old played on the '13 and '14 VC volleyball teams was killed in a boat accident Saturday. She will be honored prior to the volleyball game Friday at 6pm.
