Beautiful, simple, timeless public realm. Believe it or not this a bus route. If we were designing this today the street would be at least double the width and plastered with yellow lines. #placemaking #createstreets

I quite like working from home. But you just can’t beat productive office chatter, a decent printer, coloured pencils and a dynamic environment to work in. @_TheUrbanists

Amazing!! Future @_TheUrbanists team trip?!
This Spanish city has been car-free for 19 years. 12k people have moved into the city centre since the ban. The Mayor says vehicles don’t have more right to public space than people — & he’s been re-elected 4 times since banning cars. Pontevedra via @WEF:

Very pleased to see this shortlisted with @_TheUrbanists leading on masterplanning, design and landscape specification.
We are delighted be affordable housing partners of the Cae Newydd development constructed by @Redrow in St Nicholas, @VOGCouncil that has been nominated for Residential Development of the Year at this year's @insiderwales Property Awards. Fingers crossed for the win 🤞

An Interesting thread that has no doubt been spurred on by the National Model Design Code and the notion of ‘bringing back beauty’. For me, there are other elements that are equally as (if not more) important: form/streets/landscape/spaces.
Genuine question to #planoraks Are these houses ugly? What makes them ugly? Would a planning authority be able to "refuse them for ugliness/not beautiful" We can understand that they look the same, not very locally distinctive, but does that make them ugly?

Always great to reminisce. The things I’d do to be able to walk by the sea! For now the local canal will have to do!
It might be a dull rain-sodden Thursday at the end of Winter, but Spring is around the corner and with it the hope of better days ahead. Here's a #throwbackthursday of a beach regeneration project we were once involved with to remind us of coastal walks and beach days out.
