Union City Police Department is proud to report that our officers have taken 82 FIREARMS (handguns and rifles) off the streets since January of 2019.
The attached photographs show about half of the firearms recovered by our officers this year.

Last night, K9 Officer Olson arrested a subject outside of the Station Center Apartments who had a felony warrant for his arrest and was in possession of this loaded handgun.
Another arrest by Officer Olson that took another illegal gun off the streets!

UCPD started an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program which provides emergency treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Devices for Life, LLC provided training for its use and an AED has been placed in every patrol vehicle to provide more emergency services to the community.
We are enjoying the afternoon at James Logan High School for their Band Invitational today. 24 bands are competing today from local schools.
We are here until 5pm but the festivities go until 9 pm.

UCPD officers arrested a suspect for possessing 58 lbs. of illegal fireworks. Great work by Ofcr. Fordham, Ofcr. Spencer, and the UCPD Investigations Unit in confiscating approximately $1000 worth of illegal fireworks.
