Inaccurate. While a dad will teach their kid how to dispatch and process a deer, a dad will also teach their kid when to let a deer walk. A doe with a fawn? They both get to walk.
Ordinary people didn’t have AR-15s before 2004. They’re not some time-honored American tradition, they’re a recent mistake that we could fix and save thousands of lives in the process.
Yesterday, we learned that Glocks are for newbs and wannabes. In honor of that insight, it seems to me like a Glock thread is appropriate. Post Glonks.
It’s been a good while since I’ve done a blaster thread so I’m starting a blaster thread. Suggested theme: simple clean elegance. Feel free to join in.
I still remember the first time I carried a concealed firearm. I remember being extremely self conscious and thinking that everyone knew I was armed. Truth is most folks are oblivious to the fact. The few that know what to look for and notice don’t care or appreciate it.
The Glock journey is something I still don't quite get.
- Start with a Glock
- Replace sights
- Upgrade trigger
- Add stippling
- Improved mag catch
- Mill slide
- Add dot
- Possibly replace sights again
- Mag well
- Mag plates
- More internals
Where does it end?
Folks worried about posting gats because they'll wind up on a list should probably pay attention to current events like banking data being used to put folks on lists.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd rather have a dude with budget gear and top notch skills on my team, than a dude with gucci gear who can't keep up.
2 pistols, 2 rifles and 3 shotguns is a lot? I guess it's a matter of perspective. From my perspective, it's not even close to a lot. At best, I consider that a start.
Wouldn't it be nice if rifle ammo came in 30 round boxes instead of 20 so we can maintain a 1:1 ration between a box of ammo and a standard magazine. This reminds me of the issue that exists with hotdogs and buns. Just match them up.
I'd rather sit next to a fire pit while eating venison tacos in freezing cold weather while tent camping with close friends than attend one of those lavish dress up events.
A reason that will be disregarded as invalid: The AR-15 is a highly-effective low-recoil weapon that can be used by virtually any individual to safely neutralize a threat that justifies the use of deadly force and has an easier marksmanship learning curve than a pistol.
The evolution of a shooter's gear:
1. Gun and mags
2. Gun and carry mags, competition mags, practice mags.
3. Carry gun, competition gun, and practice gun each with their own mags.
4. Debt management
