#LIPWs are community-based subprojects in the SNSOP counties. In these projects, physically able-bodied project beneficiaries work for a specified time and get paid to strengthen the National Safety Net Delivery System by providing cash transfers & income-generating opportunities

The team discussed future opportunities to partner with the @mafs_ss on infrastructure development, focusing on feeder road construction to improve Agro-food systems by connecting food supply locations to deficit areas across the country. #SSOX.

The objective of the meeting was for UNOPS to highlight its Infrastructure work in #SouthSudan, which is backed by key donors like the EU, IFAD, and the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, as an infrastructure partner of choice and to discuss potential prospects for partnerships.

With funding from the #EU, @UNOPS handed over the Nyamlel Bridge and a completed 44km feeder road to the #GoSS. Under the EU Trust Funds project, the bridge and the feeder roads benefit over 750,000 people by connecting Aweil North & West counties in Northern Bar-el-Ghazal state.

December 2024 is a blessed month for the Shabaka Meisha beneficiaries in #SouthSudan. Cash payments to the most vulnerable people started days before Christmas, putting smiles on many faces during this festive season. So far, payments have reached seven out of twenty counties.

The project has four components, and @UNOPS is implementing its first component, focusing on Direct Income Support & Community Labour Intensive Public Works, to 157,500HH - aimed at uplifting vulnerable households through cash transfers & productive socio-economic opportunities.

The assorted items included spades, pick axes, wheelbarrows, sandbags, plastic sheets, and barrels of fuel (diesel and Petrol) to mitigate the floods in Pibor, Bor, and eight payams of New, Old, and North Fangak counties in #SouthSudan.

Completing the EU-funded #Nyamlelbridge, the 44km feeder roads and seven WASH facilities opened up socio-economic opportunities. It improved the living standards of more than 1.2 million women, men, and children in the Bahr El Ghazal region in #SouthSudan. #SSOX
