@strong_sue No one was killed as a result of any of the information Assange made public. Not only that but if a publisher can be tried for disseminating information detrimental to the U.S. government what is to stop the government from hitting other publishers like the NYT, CNN, etc?

The new charges laid out against Assange are disgraceful to say the least. The U.S. should strive to be the leader of free speech and human liberty. By going down this route, what makes us any different from nations that shut down journalism in the name of "security"?
