I have to say though, the fact that the PM could announce this while there are still people living in Ireland, tells you all you need to know about Irish voters.
Today I’m announcing an additional €20 million in funding for UNRWA to provide assistance to people in Gaza, the West Bank and Palestinian refugees across the Middle East. More details here:

Michael and Catherine Clerkin and their severely disabled son, 33-year-old David Lynch, have been without power four times this winter. They are one of 40 households on the Drumshanbo to Ballinamore road at Creenagh townland still out two weeks after Storm Éowyn. But this is the Irish government. They are absolutely out of control over Gaza. It’s ridiculous.

A great report. But as always it is competing with Gaza, due to Ireland's demented obsession with it.
My first front page picture for The Irish Times. This shows Frank McHugh in his wood in Co Leitrim which has been flattened in Storm Éowyn. The storm has created two massive problems in Leitrim - one acute, one more long-term. There are still a lot of people out two weeks later and most of them live near large forestry plantations which were flattened in the storm. 🧵
