Publishers have been waiting for this day Sites can finally end reliance on a single tech platform for their traffic and revenue. Attracting audiences — while difficult — has been possible to do independently; but ad revenue wasn’t as easy. (1/2)

Too little, too late. The industry had to assume cookies would go away and discovered first-party data was a better method. Now, publishers are catching on. Collect the data and sell directly to advertisers. Better and more private model emerged

🚨 Google’s big change: no full deprecation of third-party cookies – instead, a “one-time global prompt” for user consent. Details are still fuzzy, but will this be the end of the cookie saga? Experts share insights.

Self reliance. Generate traffic and revenue without big tech. It’s never been more realistic for more publishers.

A great example in @adage of how ezID is helping publishers build self-reliance with revenue and traffic while achieving business milestones

Fair. It was trained on a lot of copyrighted material and there’s no putting the genie back in the bottle. This is good for publishers imo.

@TheProjectUnity That’s NOT showing what you think it is. Look up where and how Google crawls pages and how publishers insert that date. It’s not a timestamp

Bing growing their revenue from ads as they’ve embedded LLMs deeper. Wonder how the segments of that revenue breakdown 😏 Hypothetical: LLMs make content and you have an audience, how many would voluntary share that audience and revenue?

Would the US ban an open source software? Just in practice I don’t even know how you’d think to do that. Nevertheless 23% of people on Polymarket seem to be willing to gamble LONG odds on it (imo)

Understanding > Guessing Even if you don't want to be hands-on, knowing the details will improve your decision-making. Too many people make guesses on not enough information when they manage a website.

We made the world's largest site speed library available for anyone to browse. Previously, this library only was available to Ezoic users but now anyone can find, compare, view site speed scores for any technology in-use on the web.

If we’re scoring the development of AI, and it’s the end of round 1 today (12 rds), who’s winning? * All choices valid ( companies, countries, groups)

What do you do that impacts your audience and how can LLMs make it better? Email marketing is a good example where the benefits are more than than just efficiency.

Example of the delta in value LLM adopters are getting vs the rest Fine-tuning a model is exponentially more useful in many cases; and if it’s a repeatable effort, required (imo) No code, no learning curve. Platforms, like @replicate, make it pretty freakin simple.

@WebdesignDana Oh it definitely can. Functionally without a lot of effort it is a perfect ‘you’. Now your unique knowledge is obviously what you need to provide but you don’t need to write the article to give it that

@WebdesignDana You must a great writer and even faster typer. Personally, my fingers have done enough typing. I also think people spend too much time computing in front of computers; I’ll let the machines do it now.

My opinion: US should ban TikTok. China should NOT let it be sold. Perplexity or any AI focused business acquiring TT US biz would be harmful. Makes the web less valuable long term.

Then you should have taken more time than Im sure it did to write that post. Lex is a good man. He will satisfy anyone’s idea of what an intelligent person is, or might look like. And, he is interested genuinely in the people and things he discusses. I can understand it not being someone’s idea of entertainment, but in your case, you happen to be wrong.
