What does it say about the state of local government when a Council offers redunduncies to ALL staff? Sounds like the model is broken #localgov @JackTShaw

The argument is that reorganising makes local gov more efficient. But from a projected saving of £14 million p.a. Somerset Council is now heading to bankruptcy The Government should sort social care and not just rearrange the deckchairs on the Titanic!

So, a Council goes "rogue" apparently based on the actions of one person. I could see the madness of the approach and I was a county away....the question is, why didn't @mhclg 🤔

Dear X - help please from those within #parishcouncils Is there a standard pay policy that most use for smaller parishes? Tried looking on the @NALC members area, but could only see policies for maternity and paternity - not a standard pay policy? @ChippenhamCEO @clerkingabout

To be honest, this was entirely predictable.... it would be good to go back to those original impact assessments of the closures and do a compare and contrast on what actually happened @Conservatives @CCNOffice

NEW: The closure of youth clubs in the 2010s led to increased offending and worse GSCE results. Teenagers entitled to free school meals were most affected. Read @carmenvillaecon’s briefing: Read the working paper:

And how exactly is he going to sack persistently failing manager....when they (the government) are NOT the employers 🤔 I can see legal cases all over this if Trusts are forced to sack staff that they didn't bother to manage properly!!!

@RobertJenrick Let's talk about why @Conservatives hollowed out the Border Force meaning those who DID come here spent years waiting for their application to be considered.... all the while WE WERE PAYING FOR IT! Let's have an efficient Border Force and less people in hotels @UKLabour

I recall the previous Chief Exec boasting of his ability to pick up the phone to the Leader and make multi-million £ deals in minutes. Whereas for us it was the Chief Exec, MO, S151, Leader and Chairman of Overview and Scrutiny (from the opposition) who decided with evidence

@GBNEWS I know people who deliberately bought farms to avoid IHT... they just got tenant farmers in... So they were pushing land prices up for the REAL farmers.... So close the loophole
