In 20 years of the profession existing in the UK literally < 5 deaths are attributed to PAs. Every human life matters YES however u can’t ignore facts. Let’s get regulated , get a scope and improve patient safety. Drs deserve higher wages but it doesn’t mean u have bury PAs.
When you simply just ask for facts nobody responds. There is zero evidence to back up the claims that multiple patients have been harmed by PA's.

Not one single PA cares whether it’s called associate or assistant. We weren’t part of the naming of the title. We as any other person met the course and the job as it was created by the government. I think it matters more that patient safety is prioritised and scope is created.

Heath Park Road on Monday (22/04/19). Not matter the reason of arrest is , nothing warrants such brutality from any police officer especially when the minor was already in handcuff and pleaded with him numerous times. He only stopped when he realised he was being recorded.

Fake news. For a PA to order an X-RAY it must be signed off by a Doctor, once the X-ray is done it’s reviewed and summarised by radiology to the requesting Dr who signed it off for review 😂🤣.

We are not trained for two years love. Most PAs are nurses and scientists who went on to study an MSc for a further two years. So not accurate is it to say trained for 2 years + PA courses are full time very intense. Drs in their 5 years of training spend half the year on holiday

I have seen Drs go as low as saying PAs should be band 4 like HCAs. Someone who has been in uni for 5 years in total? Even if we got graduate jobs with our BSc 3 year degrees we would be higher than band 4. Like are they fucking kidding? . Insulting, but that’s the objective

PAs don’t just do what a Drs assistant does in the NHS . Hence why they aren’t band 4 and will never be. If you wish it be that’s way , that’s fine. Even in other countries PAs do not function in the capacity you guys are describing or wish for. They even have more autonomy.

Point of correction Karen. PAs do anatomy and biology degrees /biochemistry etc for 3years b4 a very intense 2 year MSc ( we don’t even get summer breaks) making a total of five years with an option of a preceptorship year. Making it 6YEARS. So please don’t spread misinformation

In our practice PAs have been a blessing, not one Dr has felt as if we are increasing their work load b4 we started they were overwhelmed and stressed..AGp told me they were going home 4hours after thier shift ended due to workload now everything is balanced due to our help.
