Currently, investigations can only be requested by the Prime Minister. They are then referred to the Independent Advisor on Ministers’ Interests, who then reports back to the PM. It is up to the PM if any action is taken. 9/12

NEW: We assessed 50 councils in England and scored them out of 100 on how well they manage #corruption risks in planning: - All show significant room for improvement - More than *half* scored less than 40 indicating worrying gaps in corruption safeguards
