@maustermuhle I was one of those car registrations in 2015. Got rid of the car in 2019 and never looked back.

@woolimusic Do you think you'll rerelease plushies soon? I'd love to get one for my friend who is a mega super fan of yours for his birthday.

@capitalweather Do you remember the tiny storm 2/3 days earlier that completely shut down traffic across the region? I was trapped on the road from 5pm-midnight.

@CMCharlesAllen @DOEE_DC @charlesallen EV chargers in the community seem to me like a step to further engrain car dependency into our city rather than supporting transit, biking, and walkability.

@amsleympie @crosstown_line If your office isn't near metro then it probably wouldn't be part of a congestion tax area.

@realMikeAguilar @BarredinDC My only hope is that development of the site comes with an infill metro station at Oklahoma and Benning.

@jomwilli @coachbuckethead @beyonddc Even more amazing if we prioritized DC residents over Maryland and Virginia commuters. It shouldn't be so easy to drive a SOV through the city.

@DCCarViolence @wmata @thepointsguy We could've built the entire 36-mile proposed streetcar system for cheaper than the silver line extension.

@PulpAdded @BarredinDC The streetcar has unmatched accessibility. Busses are nearly unusable for wheelchair and stroller users. That's the main difference I see when I ride both. The number of uses that need a mobility aid.

@NW_Realist @theHillisHome @DCStreetcar Streetcar has lower operating cost than busses. Capital costs are higher, but much of that is due to how we calculate cost for transit. BRT is marginally cheaper to build.

@JHWeissmann @theHillisHome @DCStreetcar The streetcar has nearly 3k riders per month. It is far more accessible than a bus. Level boarding, wide corridors, smooth ride. You'll find mixes of people (strollers, wheel chairs, luggage, grocery carts) that can't even be on a bus at one time.

@FrenettMarco @JHWeissmann The streetcar moves a ton of people given how far it goes. It looks empty because it has 3x the capacity of a bus. Everyday, you will find multiple strollers, wheelchairs, walkers, grocery carts on the streetcar at once. Not even possible on a bus.

@thewongmann @the_transit_guy I'd say east capitol street in DC, but U St is a top contender both for different reasons.

@the_transit_guy It's significantly cheaper in DC. This ride would be $2.30 on @bikeshare ebike. $4.30 if I decide to park it outside my house instead of a dock - an option that doesn't exist in NYC

@Ms_EmmeEmme @maustermuhle We don't pay less because we don't "own our land." We pay less because of economies of scale. There are more properties per square mile using less infrastructure each. It's cheaper to maintain an urban area per capita than a suburban area.

@DanRiffle It took me 6 minutes to get from the trader Joe's to 14th St on my e bike. So pumped!!!

@BirdWhichIsThe @BarredinDC @wmata @DCStreetcar The streetcar is actually faster than the X2 when compared across the entire 2.4 mile stretch. That's largely a function of the number of stops the bus has. The streetcar works pretty well as is, but the H St redesign combined with extending it to metro would make it way better
