The funny thing about gamblers (which I know from experience) is they are resistant to economical swings. They always find a way to keep swinging. My comment was less about dealing with those hurt financially but with those that were not hurt financially and wanted to transfer their betting action from sports, casino, etc. to the only viable option, horse racing. That is where the opportunity was lost.

@Tinky47flat I believe the cost of a daily racing form was $2.00 when I started following in 1986. Certainly not blaming DRF as they are a business but the lack of free past performances is probably the biggest deterrent in attracting new players.

@EJXD2 @RepoleStable Exactly. I had people that never thought of horse racing reach out to me to ask for advice on how to get set up, read the data, etc. There was an opportunity to convert people but nothing happened to facilitate it.

@Classhndicapper @RepoleStable It's possible but there may be other ancillary consequences (i.e. less owners, less horses, less exposure in different markets to promote involvement and so on).

#6 at Tampa Bay Downs race 7 is currently 10-1. It will be the favorite in the end. There is zero minutes to post right now and they are approaching the gate. Toteboard manipulation.

@bernielootz34 @SwiftHitter If So Cal was able to double their purses, and Kentucky also doubled their purses, he'd be saying the exact same thing. They overspend on horses, overspend on training and medications, race to seldomly and then complain they can't be profitable.

Want to know how certain PEDS look in action? Check race 4 at Santa Anita. #6 San Saba duels for the lead, gets passed, running up and down and reengages to win. It slows the fatigue process.
