@tylerfage @DeenaI They are talking about a single alternator set up. If a dedicated leisure alternator, direct to the battery then change to lifepo4 there must be some sort of protection or an externally regulated alternator, otherwise when the lifepo4 reaches 100% the BMS disconnects charging.

@CanalRiverTrust @CRTBoating You m may want to pass on the mess that is left, canal is STILL partially blocked, I managed to get through hugging the towpath side, not sure how big the branches are that are in the channel. I still had to moor up and clear the prop!!!

@tylerfage @DeenaI If you have a dedicated leisure alternator to lifepo4 you need something, otherwise when the BMS shuts down due to overvoltage the alternator has nowhere to send the power to and will burn out the diode pack or more, unless you have an external regulator like the wakespeed.

@tylerfage @CRTSouthEast Because CRT don't carry out the repairs they use contractors, CRT have repeatedly told me they have to use a qualified person to work on the system as they not allowed, I've been in the trade decades and I still can't find out the qualifications CRT adhere to!!!!

@tylerfage Has anyone in area had a look, I've personally repaired plenty so as to get water, I fixed Buckby wharf when it froze and split, 5 other boaters stood there and hadn't even called CRT, couple of spanners and some pipe and we all had water!!

@CanalRiverTrust @CRTBoating @NABO_Official ///servants.composts.starch Buckby wharf, Grand Union canal, above lock 7. But you can report 90% of the water points on the sytem, especially the so called updated newer aluminium ones. If you have exposed metal, uninsulated with water inside, it WILL freeze!!

@CanalRiverTrust @CRTBoating @NABO_Official I'd like to report that CRT are not willing to listen, change or enter into a discussion about this. I've spoken to CRT staff on the ground who agree it's a ludicrous situation, yet they aren't being heard. If something IS NOT fit for purpose stop repairing it in the same way.

@WobblyBoater @CRTBoating @CanalRiverTrust @NABO_Official There are many ways to sort this, but CRT are stuck in their ways they REFUSE to listen to the customer, they're happy to spend thousands every year on contractor repairs, then turn and say they are struggling for funds. Customers satisfaction is not a priority. See there reply!!

@CanalRiverTrust @CRTBoating @NABO_Official 1. Report to CRT 2. CRT send someone to look at what's been reported 3. CRT agree its damaged and put in a 2nd report for a contractor. 4. A few days later a contractor repairs it at a cost of a few hundred ££s for an item that costs £5, next week they'll do the same!!!
