Indonesia really made the wrong decision going with Chinese funding & route alignment for their HSR. The main reason they picked China over Japan was the lack of govt loan guarantee, now China is asking for the the loan guarantee they tried to avoid. Jokowi really fumbled here.

@AbeMarvellous @DavidHundeyin @GazetteNGR Computing passenger traffic based on populations along a line using a gravity model, the possible rail routes are ranked below. The higher the line density, the greater the economic viability of the line. But Nigeria started with #12 , #15 , and #13 . Though #2 is almost completed.

Too bad this impressive driverless transit running since 1980 only serves the ATL airport, the world's busiest, not the actual city of Atlanta. This rapid transit system is non other than the Atlanta Plane Train.

Instead of clamouring for new deep sea ports, the E & SS states should be working together to strengthen the transport links to Onne Port. This proposed freight rail corridor is 254km long from Onne port to Onitsha with 4 ICDs at Aba, Owerri, & Onitsha.

Due to the poor station access due to far out of city center stations, on the Bandung end, you'll spend 30mins on the HSR, but then spend 36mins on the final 15km to reach central Bandung.

@DiegoBeghin @SGamarad oops. It's actually 36mins to central Bandung. You'll spend ~30mins on HSR to Walini HSR station, then transfer to Padalarang station and then ride the local train for 36min to reach the center. If you chose the taxi or bus option, then it's even slower taking ~50mins

Poor execution aside, one thing Lagos did right was pick a high demand corridor for their first metro line. There is so much latent demand on the Blue line corridor. A much better route choice than the middle of nowhere route chosen in the capital city, Abuja.

Unfortunately, many Indian cities are following in Malaysia's footsteps. They're building metro systems rapidly, but also building multiple urban highways while doing nothing to restrict car use and their relatively low system ridership reflects that.

This looks like the Yutong E11 (ZK6118BEVG) electric bus model. With 350kWh battery, it should be able to achieve a range of 270km at 1.3kWh/km avg energy consumption. So it can work on bus routes with 200-250km of daily distance travelled.
