Treva Reid is not seeking reelection. She has been a rare Oakland elected official who actually worked in good faith with City staff to make Oakland a better place. Everyone has their flaws, but I viewed Councilmember Reid as collaborative rather than adversarial.

The 2021 Ordinance 13662 introduced by Bas and Kaplan prevents the towing of vehicles in Oakland. It expires this month. The 2023 version is coming soon. Unless this policy is removed there will continue to be clusters of car graveyards in West Oakland.

Our recently passed budget funds a Film Attraction Initiative that capitalizes on Oakland's art and culture. For every dollar spent on filming, Oakland can expect an additional $13.66 reinvested back into our local economy.
