@sclptrsofscwrtz I mean if you could talk people into not committing crimes, we wouldn't have any crimes, then would we?. Some people will simply refuse to respect the property of others (your body is your own personal property). What's your backup plan in case you encounter one of those people.

@PramilaJayapal If that were true, the US would have the highest homicide rate on the planet, yet we're not even close. If we remove the fifty or so most violent COUNTIES in the US (primarily poor, Democrat controlled areas), we reduce the total US homicide rate by around half. Guns are NOT.
