When Dallas isn’t getting offense from blocked shots and defense it’s a different game. Houston cuts 17-point halftime deficit to 2 in 5 1/2 minutes. Kyrie Irving has 0 field goals in 25 minutes. Its almost like the guy who used to get him open shots is gone.

Mavs have 7 blocked shots in first 15 minutes, leading Rockets by 14. Davis only credited with 1 but I think Sengun would tell you it’s more.

Didn’t take AD long to win over the crowd inside building. First Houston timeout with 7:34 to go, Mavs lead 14-7. Davis has 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block.

Overthought is a very good description.
I’m a ball coach & in the sports world, so I really try not to be critical of other coaches/sports leaders, for obvious reasons … but after almost 24 hours trying to figure out the reason to trade away a generational player … I’ve still got nothing. Feels WAY overthought. I sure hope it works out for everyone, but sure hate it for our city to lose such an icon who embraced Dallas.

Dirk had some occasional defensive lapses and conditioning issues as I recall. Wonder how many years he could have played in Dallas before Nico decided he was too much trouble.
