@J_the_biscuit @johncopse @CWGC I guess the question is why one researcher has amendments addressed by CWGC and why another does not after two previous attempts for the same casualty? Rather than being paranoid I think there has been resourcing issues and the fact that you had the change accepted is positive

@Taff_Gillingham @CStewart_CS @AlStewartOBE Hymns in the local Methodist Church made my Mum step back in time more lucid. Cherished moments, now memories.

@johncopse @tigwallace1 @CWGC No worries Neil. The absence of scrutiny for taxpayers who cover the vast majority of costs is a concept that has no resolution until Freedom of Information Act applies - unlikely.

@tigwallace1 @johncopse @CWGC Addenda panels are a simpler route for corrections, where there’s space. Otherwise a notation on the casualty record is simple & cheap. The panels inevitably have outstanding corrections, notably where a man’s burial has been found. New panels unnecessary.

@Ianlyall9 @johncopse @CWGC The integrity & accuracy of the database is fundamental from 1919 onward. Inscriptions don’t need to change, just a notification in the casualty entry online. What’s the point of people visiting the Menin Gate if the true records show a man died in France.

@Ianlyall9 @johncopse @CWGC This policy ignored attachments, which were common in Aug 1916 onwards. Disappointing that corrections are ignored & men are commemorated in the wrong country. Hey ho….
