@UazzoPerpetual @thewolvenhour "From the fruit", surely? ("A flower" is Anthos.) Reminds me of the motto of Wokingham "E glande quercus" (An oak from an acorn - pun on "woke" and "oak").

@RomeInTheEast @tsimalaw @thewolvenhour Old English is more different from modern English than ancient Greek is from modern Greek. Modern English is more than half French or Latin.

@spectral_song @g_gosden It's corrupt German for a lion. As Wittgenstein famously said : Wenn ein Löwe sprechen könnte, wir könnten ihn nicht verstehen. A cap which fits Mr Lowe well.

@lodeslan @CClark_UK The former owners are translated to the life immortal, and have no more need of sacraments. Modern buildings may well be easier to keep warm and comfortable, and there is no reason for them to be hideous.

@EduardHabsburg They are not Mitropan, but Germany and Poland are. Throw in Ukraine, and you could have an outlet to the Black American Sea.

@JaneSAnderson15 @LauraPAuthor There was a bridge over the Forth at Stirling, the only one needed if making that journey by the direct route. No need to cross the Tay. Logical route would be by Caledonian line bym Tullibardine and Stirling to Larbert, then North British to Edinburgh.
