Quickness and speed, to me, are two different things.
Quick players separate from opposition. Create space for themselves to make plays (both sides of the puck)
Also, people need to realize that getting faster isn’t just about getting faster skaters. It’s about moving the puck quicker, increasing IQ, etc. Now, faster skaters always helps but a fast skater with a low IQ is useless.
