Fraymakers sprites might be too large to sustain development? Higher resolution sprites can take exponentially more time to create.

I used to visit spriters-resource all the time as a kid. I did not imagine my stuff being on there! They really got everything, even the old/hidden stuff!
One of the concepts I learned early on in game dev is making games "less accessible". Giving players a unique and legitimately rare experience can feel magical and have a huge impact on the player.
(Think more like easter eggs, not NFTs)

RoA did a good job I think, it's a whole different aesthetic of course. But you're right, it's a big reason why fighting games moved to 3d models

We actually just updated her sprite to be more on the green side! In the game officially, it would be a lighter green color.

So what do I think will happen to Unity?
- The change mostly impacts AA/AAA studios. The amount of $ in question is not enough to push them to another engine (+alternatives are currently insufficient)
- A % of current Free users will leave the Unity ecosystem. Unity plans for it
Marketing is important, but it won't turn your game into a success.
If your indie game is a fire, marketing is like kindling. It brings new players in.
But if the fuel (the game itself) is weak, players won't stick around. The fire will burn out.

I tried to help a streamer playing my game. He would give up and facepalm everytime he missed a spell (which you have infinite of) because an enemy moved. Enemies move in timed patterns! What kind of mindset is this?

Yep, meta progression goes against my design values, but it's a strong incentive and gives players a bit of progression indefinitely. It's like the MSG of roguelites.

One Step From Eden's focus/brand system was inspired by the Warcraft III Custom Map "Pokemon Defense," where you could set two "pokemon finders" to a type, (grass, water, fire, none, etc.) and only those pokemon types would appear next round.

Used Photoshop to make pixel art animations for the longest time (I came from a UI/graphic design background)
If anyone is still using Photoshop for pixel art, I would highly recommend trying aseprite or anything else.
Just spent hours debugging because Germany and other countries change how float.Parse() works in C# (Unity).
It ignores periods in float numbers because regionally they use commas "," as decimals. This means any float like 3.4 becomes 34. 🤦♂️
Achieved a dream of going to GDC! I never thought I'd actually have an opportunity to go there. I distinctly remember how out of reach it felt when I first started developing, and it had felt that way until I saw the acceptance email from Indie Megabooth. This is awesome.
When you're planning your Kickstarter achievement rewards/stretch goals make them things you ALREADY plan to do. Then when you have to cut things for scope, don't cut those things.
