I do prefer how final Gru looks, he has a lived in everyman feel, like you could see him on the street. Groo just spells out villain on-sight. Groo still looks good, I just prefer the way Gru looks.

All of those have high fantasy elements, Yakuza is a little more down to Earth and is based on an actual dangerous group of people in Japan so it feels more real than a sexy witch lady 70x comboing an angel to a red paste. That's what I think they see.
