With our 5 panelists - @SashaLPC, @DrRDangelo, @jburgo55, @MrsSaraStockton and Anna Hutchinson - we'll explore strategies to help young people navigate this period of uncertainty and build resilience. As new executive orders in the United States aim to restrict access to transition-related medical interventions for youth under age 19, many gender dysphoric young people are experiencing fear, confusion, and uncertainty. Our webinar will aim to: ✨UNDERSTAND young people’s concerns about newly released executive orders relating to gender identity, including the loss of access to transition-related interventions for individuals under 19. ✨Discuss STRATEGIES for connecting with young people who may feel fearful, confused, angry, or cornered by these changes. ✨Share RECOMMENDATIONS for how adults—therapists, parents, teachers, and school officials—can communicate about these executive orders, help young people navigate uncertainty, and build resilience.

Some families are in absolute panic after Trump's recent Executive Orders, which will seriously curtail the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgery for minors and 18 year olds. This mother of a trans-identified medicalized female is in disbelief. She says it's "dystopian" that she and her child are considering "seeking asylum" to Canada. What role does the media play in this devastating situation? A Rolling Stone article from the 5th was particularly hysterical and pathetic. For years, young people and their families have been told these interventions are life-saving and necessary "healthcare". Now they feel the rug has been pulled out from under them and they risk losing everything. I look forward to discussing these issues and trying to chart a helpful pathway out of this mess.
