The active lifestyle wasn't for it's own sake, but was intended to support his intellect. Even as a child, TR showed an aptitude and desire to study a variety of subjects, with a penchant for naturalism. He graduated from Harvard and decided to attend Columbia Law.

Trump went onto CNN and crushed the sitting President of the United States to such a degree that, for the first time in American history, a coup was launched to remove an elected party nominee. He then faced gunfire a couple days later and performed ably. I doubt he "fears" ABC

Kamala Harris refusing to debate on Fox News — and Donald Trump refusing to debate on ABC — tells you all you need to know about American politics. Our “leaders” are too afraid to leave their echo chambers. They don’t want to solve problems, they want to look good.

@HistoricLines Drive through it and you'll get it, and the population was very much hostile to this guy. Not a single person to offer him aid and he was still on the lam for two weeks

@r3turn0fth3g00n We outright invaded Mexico in 1916 over 8 Dead Americans. The cartels kill thousands of times that number every year. It's criminal that it's allowed to continue without armed resistance.

The split in the Republican Party permitted Satan's Agent on Earth, Woodrow Wilson to win the presidency. Roosevelt again left the country on another expedition. This time exploring the Amazon, at the behest of the American Museum of Natural History

While he didn't complete his Law studies, he did research and publish a thorough work on the Naval War of 1812 at the age of 23. This work bore fruit: it started TR's keen interest in Naval affairs, including a study of Mahan's works, which he influenced

@barnes_law Poor judgment isn't a crime. The need to defend the kid must be universal. Besides, his real crime was bagging two of the regimes paramilitaries when they attacked him. That's what they cannot allow to stand uncontested

Most people who idolize the devastation inflicted on the South do so because they wish they could do the same to their contemporary political enemies and live vicariously through a misunderstanding of Sherman. It's not ideological defense of the Union, they're just Communists

Among Civil War buffs, there is a culture that honors both sides of the conflict. That peaked in the 1990s and now there's a new generation interested in the War that refuses to honor the Confederates. This befuddles & angers the boomers that grew up with the Both Sides approach
