Reading aloud to children is one of the most important ways to encourage a love of reading. Farshore books, a leading children’s book publisher, is inviting schools to apply for a research trial to measure the impact of daily story time on children in KS2.
The judging process of the UKLA Book Awards uniquely includes assessing the impact of the books within the classroom and the student’s response to them and it was very notable that it was books with themes of inclusion and empathy that were the most popular in the 3-6 category...
In light of recent events that highlight the very real consequences when misinformation is spurred by prejudice, we at UKLA continue to stand for inclusion, respect, care, and solidarity.
Please note: For the safety of UKLA staff, our offices will be closed.
The shortlist for our Information Book Award spans 3-14 age range and subjects ranging from the Holocaust to the water cycle and delivering important messages about equality, racism and the environment. Who will be selected as our winner? Tune in on Friday at 7pm to find out!
