One of the best players in the NHL, along with his brother, were killed by a drunk driver. Two who were by all accounts, great human beings. The news broke well before your airtime and you couldn’t even bother to mention them. You were all over this, though. We know why.

The Hurricanes have had some of the best overall attendance in the league the last 6 seasons. There’s been a remarkable turn around in marketing, in-game experience and on-ice product since Dundon bought the team. The team has been a Stanley Cup contender and will be one again
They say you’re a traffic cone
They say our PP is fine without you
They say even your underlying numbers are bad
They say you’re an insurance policy
They say you’re a discount 7th D-man
They say you’re going to the KHL
It’s your time,
@NYRFan92360244
I cannot express this enough. This trophy is particularly hard to win as a defenseman, especially one as effective as Slavin despite his limited physicality. He’s literally the best shutdown defenseman right now and will be amongst the all time greats in that category.
I’ve been working on my video series I’m making about Jaccob Slavin and after watching as much of the footage as I have I can say with certainty that recently, he’s had to work harder to be a safety valve for Burns than he ever had to for TDA.
I said this extensively last season and I stand by this: The only reason the Panthers swept the Canes and weren’t the ones getting swept last season was Bobrovsky. The moment he is anything short of spectacular, of game stealing standards, the team in front of him can’t finish it
@MarkLazerus
Bedard has already developed the habit of taking the axe to people and almost never gets called
I was watching this game. He slashed two Avs players (Byrom and Manson) and it was way more egregious than the love tap he got.
The double standards for star players is ridiculous

We both know why he doesn’t like hockey and why he didn’t mention Johnny and Matthew on his show,
You’re just calling a spade a spade. People are upset but, you’re completely correct.
If it’s true SKA is looking to trade Nikishin, this leads to several possibilities
1. If he goes to another team, the Canes may have the ability to negotiate with them as opposed to SKA and maybe bring him over early.
2. Yes, he’s ready for the NHL now. But, since there’s no
@Uggg_uggg
I wish him the best. He’s a good OFD who never had any locker room issues with the Canes and played better than people were ever gonna give him credit for. Would be curious to see a pairing with him and Nikishin.
@Faino
@andystrickland
The first time with the Flames was too early to make an NHL team work in the south. The Thrashers were basically destined to fail because of the ownership regardless of how good or bad the team did. It will work there if done correctly and it wasn’t done correctly the first two
Rags finished 3 points ahead in the regular season
Every game has been one goal
Canes have been better 5 on 5
PK is back to form.
PP has finally shown life.
Statistical improbability does not mean impossible
It’s unlikely, but can happen
We like our group
I actually don’t hate these lines.
The only big variables here are
1. Will KK bounce back? I think he will.
2. How will Roslovic fit in? Hard to quantify
3. 4th line I’m kinda worried about but, it’s not destined to fail. We will see.
Smaller variables:
1. Does Aho get
The first on-ice session of

training camp is underway!
"Team C1", the more veteran of the two groups, is hitting leadoff today and here's how they look -
Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis
Roslovic - Kotkaniemi - Necas
Martinook - Staal - Carrier
Lemieux - Drury - Robinson - Jost
This is something I noticed today as well.
ESPN never should’ve gotten back the rights to broadcast the NHL.
@stephenasmith
made his opinions on hockey clear and he doesn’t even view it as a “real sport” so he couldn’t be bothered to mention it.
Fuck you,
@stephenasmith
A thread since it’s gonna take a bit for me to fall asleep, if at all
1. The officiating is not the biggest reason the Canes lost and actually is near the bottom of the list
2. The PK worked well all season and now it’s having a difficult time against a power play that is elite
@WaltRuff
Please check out this video regarding this kid. He’s incredible and watching the the footage of him and analyzing his game has been my favorite project to date

Martin Necas has already had a 70+ point season. 22-23 he recorded 71 points, a lot of them centered by KK, Derek Stepan and Paul Stastny. 36 of his 71 points came outside of 5 on 5 play.
5 on 5 points: 13G-22A-35P
PP: 5G-17A-26P
OT: 4G-1A-5P
SH: 1A
Other: 4P
A rough breakdown
@TheWarningTake
There is literally no chance in hell Necas can get 70 points playing on a line THAT bad lol. He’d need history shattering power play production lol. 55-60 will be impressive enough on that line. And people need to just give up think KK is good, horse has been beaten for years
Clown take. Nikishin is not just some “high potential Top4D” and the fact this casual doesn’t understand why he’s not with the Canes yet shows he’s a pathetic casual.
Everytime these morons propose a trade involving Nikishin, they downplay how good he is but package him in 🤣
@SprecksNY
I have zero love for Lazarus. I really don’t like him. But, Tony DeAngelo has had his side of the story dismissed, exaggerated, fabricated and outright censored since it happened.
Tony had zero issues with his Canes teammates. Georgiev on the other hand in COL…
I have worked on this for a while now and I hope you all enjoy. Until 2025, maybe this will help us make it until then.

We have flown a regular-sized American flag on the front of our house every day of the 23 years we've lived here.
We have newer neighbors that I would guess are in their early thirties. They have a five-year-old son.
My hubby is friendly with them.

Which Hughes? The overrated one at center or the really overrated traffic cone that looks cool on the power play and only gets minutes because of his brother?

and Seth Jarvis have agreed to terms on an eight-year, $63.2 million contract.
It's a fascinating deal - one that has the chance to be a precedent setter league-wide with a lower cap hit because of deferred money.
Details
@DailyFaceoff
:
What the Canes can do with 8mil:
Jarvis 8x8 OR
Skjei 7ish AAV with term 6-7 year and money leftover OR
Retain any combination of Martinook, Noesen, Turbo, TDA etc with money leftover OR
Go get Lindholm in FA for a similar deal
This has its upsides.
For the record, since for some reason people keep saying this, I’m NOT Tony DeAngelo. Just someone whose sick of him being criticized by people who know nothing about the game of hockey.
I’ve hardly heard a word of recognition for Brett Pesce outside of Carolina throughout his whole career and now that he might go to a “traditional market” people suddenly want to acknowledge his existence.
Trans people face discrimination daily.
