This is one of the best examples with the issue with localization. In Neo TWEWY, in Japanese the character says “Bye” as a form of entitlement speaking in a foreign language, but EN says “Later Losers”. The correct choice would be “Ciao” as that’s what English speakers would say.

The EN version of the game is clearly pushing an agenda with relationships forcing the player to experience a more pronounced romance with Tifa which is not in the JP version.
No matter your feelings on shipping, this is against JPs intentions and disrespects the JP writers.

This is exactly what I am wondering about, why say it's for a "fresh take" but emulate the same aspects of the original cast. That's what makes me think they needed the same performance but with different names for marketing purposes.

I’m saddened with this recast. Kitase said Advent Children VAs couldn’t voice FF7R because FFVII was two years in the past, but Crisis Core is 5 years in FFVII past so how does that logic work with the Remake cast?

Propaganda. I do think this is from Square Enix NA. Max has a great amount of influence and personally I feel NA is trying to distract Japan from seeing what NA has done to FF7R with how destructive the localization changes were.
Another propaganda? Or unintentional misinformation? There are no concrete evidence of his actual involvement. Anyone with actual source to confirm are welcome to validate.

She was the voice of Tifa for 13 years until FF7R was recast.
