Stealing from
@Everylastdime
because I’ve been challenged to make a similar poll with my followers.
Forget policy, forget talent, forget political accomplishments, straight up, who is the more quality human being. Who’s a better person?
"Abel Cedillo is the worst" "Irad Ortiz is awful" "Brian Hernandez Jr can't ride a donkey" "Saez is terrible" "Gaffalione is horrible"
None of you armchair jockeys have any idea what you're talking about. These guys get the mounts they do for a reason. Any given day....
Laughing at the latest Swifty drama. After all the crap he’s said and done over the last couple years and people still get duped by him? It’s impressive he still continues to con people after blowing daddy’s inheritance on gambling. Can’t fix stupid.
Thank you so much for the support yesterday everybody! Uhwarrie Sky ended up running fifth, but he ran as I expected and I was quite pleased with the effort off a 10 month layoff. Loved seeing my silks in action! He’s such a kind, docile horse too. Delaware up next on July 4!
Sky unfortunately exited his last race with a minor upper suspensory injury and we’re so thankful to
@jdaacostamangua
for taking care of him. He will be just fine after a couple months of rest, but his racing career is over. We will be finding him a good home for a 2nd career.
And Baffert finally gets outed for the fraud he is. Medina gets the same exact setup, cruises easily, and comes up empty for a trainer that has always handled the 2-week turnaround with ease for his Derby winners.
Cannot be happier for Rombauer's connections!
@RomanVe76
@acdc
He was only retired because AC/DC was on the verge of a tribute band the last tour. Get Phil and Brian back and it’s at least close, though never the same without Malcolm.
Before I head off to bed I just want to thank everyone for their support. It's been a helluva journey with seemingly just about everything going wrong until it all came together today. I've been waiting to let that kind of excitement out for a looooong time.
Hopefully this is the start of a widespread cleanup. Start investigating Baffert's barn next. This is a win for everyone who loves horse racing and relies on it for a living. Enough is enough. Racing officials, commissions, and owners who turned a blind eye: SCREW YOU!
Day 3 of reminding
@GovLarryHogan
that horses still need to be cared for and the expenses don’t stop. PLEASE LET LAUREL PARK OPEN WITHOUT SPECTATORS! You’ve held horsemen hostage for two months. Enough with the uncertainty! It can be done safely. PICK A DATE!
@garybarnidge
@DeAngeloRB
Only thing that made me a little pissed was DeAngelo saying “I coulda paid for this myself” while many people, myself included, would dream of this unique experience to see the world because we don’t have piles of money to afford it.
Remember that time Page McKenney ran down Navarro and Servis charges in the Salvator Mile in his final career win? What a warrior and a true Mid-Atlantic legend.
Pretty surreal experience having a horse run in my colors at
@MonmouthPark
. Just wish we had gotten a fair shot with firm turf. Can’t control the weather! I love the first photo of
@FerrinPeterson
smiling at getting to know my horse.
So this summer I got to go to the Ohio Derby, got interviewed by
@PAOnTheMic
at
@CanterburyPark
, handicapped on-air with
@RacingRachelM
at
@IGRaceCourse
, crossed off Belterra, did a Lane's End farm tour, saw the craziest Haskell, and got my first win as an owner. I love life.
Dutrow served a way longer penalty than more egregious cheaters, and now that his ten years is up some of you are crying foul? It’s redemption time for him. Give him a chance.
Canterbury Park is a really fun track to experience live racing at. Very nice paddock, easy setup inside, sight lines for the races are fantastic even inside the glass panels, and they really care about the fans there.
Politicians who won't allow owners into a cavernous facility with a massive footprint to experience watching the horses they bought and pay the bills for compete, is ludicrous and wrong. Just as wrong as not allowing racing to take place. People have lost their minds.
But the best part of the whole experience was having way more family members than expected showing up to cheer and root us on. That was totally surreal. Even my boss showed up with her husband! I can’t believe my uncle (and co-owner) showed up in a full blown suit haha.
If you complain about a gambling loss on Twitter, you probably shouldn't be considered a serious horseplayer nor should you be betting large sums of money.
I have ZERO interest in the virtual Derby. Give me real horse races. Wouldn't surprise me if the rest of America likes something fake due to the general public's fascination with artificiality. Just look at Disney's popularity! Why don't you ACTUALLY go drink around the world?
I'm happy that I found Sky a good forever home and that I don't have the anxiety of paying bills over my head anymore.
But I think about
@BeemieAwards
and
@DaveRodman
's calls of his races every single day and I never get tired of those race replays. Lifetime memories.
Nadal is for real. 2nd career start, duels on the INSIDE of a horse through 44, 1:09, and pushes through to finish in 1:22 when his breeding screams longer. This is a legit contender on the Derby trail.
If we can allow thousands of protestors gathered in close proximity, and if people can go to the beach, we can AT THE VERY LEAST allow owners to watch their horses on track, let alone fans at reduced capacity.
I never understood the “one time” folks. Ever.
But if I could ever use mine, it would be for this Monday’s 6th race at
@ColonialRosies
. With my old buddy from my “growing up at Monmouth Park” days Chuckie Lopez riding. This is storybook stuff right here.
@Hinesite
@theyreoff
@SpeakerPelosi
@realDonaldTrump
He isn't perfect alright. There's a laundry list of classless things he's done. This is but one example. Ripping up a speech, while highly unprofessional, pales in comparison.
With Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie, and a Baffert going to the Haskell, it's gonna be cheater central at the Jersey Shore on July 17 but at least it'll be a banger of a race.
Look
@GovMurphy
, I understand you're trying to keep NJ in the clear in regards to COVID as we've done a good job, but allowing 2k indoors at AC casinos and simultaneously limiting to 2k on the entire spacious grounds at
@MonmouthPark
AT THE LAST MINUTE is complete horseshit!
One thing I forgot to mention about Delaware. I was so hungry I decided to take a leap of faith and get a slice of pizza at a racetrack. And you know what? IT WAS GOOD! Yes, Delaware Park racetrack pizza meets Leckie standards.
I don't feel offended in the slightest, but I find it interesting that some people are so obsessed with disliking me that they make troll accounts of me. I'm not even in racing, I'm just an opinionated racing fan that goes to the track weekly and bets horses.
If there's any good news about the upcoming Monmouth Park meet, it's that we don't have to worry about the evil empire anymore. Emperor Navarro has finally been vanquished.
It's closing day
@ColonialRosies
:(
Huge shoutout to the team there for such a successful meet after last year's debacle. Competitive fields, fun handicapping puzzles, some great prices sprinkled in - all put together by a team that cares about horsemen & the racing product.
The annual tradition continues of only getting five hours of sleep due to over excitement. Can’t go back to sleep if I tried so might as well use this opportunity to say....
HAPPY HASKELL DAY!!!!
Took this long but COVID finally got me. Thank goodness I'm boosted or these symptoms could be a whole lot worse. Thankful for that. Now I get to "enjoy" a couple of weeks' stay at home vacation (probably will go mad by the end of it).
Coming to a track near you:
May 17 - Grants Pass
June 26 - Thistledown
June 30 - Canterbury Park
July 1 - Indiana Grand
July 2 - Belterra Park
Excited to cross off five new tracks for live racing!
I was struggling to gain my composure during the processional at my wedding on Saturday because of how beautiful it was. So I thought of
@larrycollmus
race calls instead: “American Pharoah HAS LOST THE LEAD at the top of the stretch!” It helped.
I hate to do this (not really), but I'm going to be an annoying gnat until we hear something concrete, and I'm gonna do this everyday until something is done or you block me
@GovLarryHogan
. LET LAUREL PARK OPEN WITHOUT SPECTATORS! Horsemen/owners need to pay their bills.
