I enjoyed the new Texas Chainsaw. I also enjoyed Halloween Kills. I also dug the new Candyman. I loved Scream 2022. It’s almost as if you can love movies of varying qualities and not feel bad about it
Noticed in some reviews for 'The First Omen' that quite a few people did not clock the clear reference to this film. Do yourself a favor & fix that gap in your watchlist.
Between X, Scream, Fresh, Master, Northman, Nope, Black Phone, Disappointment Blvd, Halloween Ends, & smaller indies Speak No Evil, Hatching, etc…
2022 is shaping up to be an awesome year for horror filmmakers/genre movies
For all the people who keep saying the cat from Pet Sematary 2019 died- yes, ONE of them passed away. There were two that played Church, and this is the other one, named Tonic.

about why it’s one of the best indie horrors ever made 💯
I’m allowed to say now..Terrifier 2 rules. a fuller movie in terms of story than its predecessor, with elaborate, iconic kills & more of an empowering narrative. And in NO WAY skimps on what you love about the first one. Art 4 lyfe
Elvira personified the “horror hottie” before the horror hottie even became a thing. But it was her intelligence, wit, self-awareness, and business model that makes her my idol for life
not y’all arguing again about your Scream rankings when literally every single movie in that franchise has *something* good about it
(yes, even Scream 3)
I’d rather read editorials about why specific movies really spoke to you this decade (versus all the ‘best of’ listicles) so I’m re-sharing once more about how HEREDITARY affected my life and love of horror (thanks to

this HBO Max garbage is EXACTLY why I bought the entire Sex and the City blu ray collection. physical media will always be the only reliable source of content consumption
I theorized & talked to a few filmmakers about how post-pandemic horror could lead to a new slasher resurgence on

Horror is personal to all of us.
Every. Single. One. Of. Us.
If anything, it should be bringing people closer together- not drawing petty lines in the sand.
I wrote about

People are *still* realizing that JENNIFER’S BODY is awesome & that Megan Fox is a goddess who was only ostracized bc she spoke out against abusive men in power? Y’all way late
Since we’re all buying that gorgeous MIDSOMMAR Director’s cut collector’s ed. blu today (or is it just me) here is my review of it for

Excl: Robert Pattinson and SMILE filmmaker Parker Finn team for a remake of cult 1981 horror movie POSSESSION, a package that has ignited a bidding war in Hollywood this week.
I had a hankering to watch The People Under the Stairs but realized I didn’t own it and it isn’t streaming anywhere
Moral to the story: this is why you physical media

I must confess that I think Film Studies prof Samara Weaving’s character’s description of slasher movies 101 was too elementary for how smart her character likely is. We know what final girls are. Give us more, girl.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I’d rather watch a finale in a trilogy get weird and unexpected than watch 3 of the exact same movie in a row, but idk 🤷🏼♀️

I love how they think her old music was “music from the heart” as if she doesn’t *now* have more agency and creative freedom in her music than she ever did in those younger years lol
