Big news! The Huntington has acquired a major work by Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun (1755–1842), the most important female artist of 18th-century France:
These handmade paper dolls were made in the 1860s, and the creator of the set included a letter detailing the imagined names and lives of many of the dolls, recorded long after the set was created.

Visitors can see the plant bloom in the Conservatory now and during our Twilight Garden Strolls, concluding at 7:30 pm.
With two blooms so close together, our curator John took the rare opportunity to collect pollen from one and deliver it to the other. If the pollination is successful, we should see fruits begin to appear by around January 2024! 🤞

Success! The Corpse Flower that we pollinated in September is now producing fruit. 🙌 🍑 After they reach maturity, which takes about 9 months, the seeds will be harvested and shared with botanic gardens across the country.
