Thanks to Neil who is a patient of mine and consented to this. Neil and I are actually documenting his full journey as his ambition is to climb multiple mountains this year which is what we are working towards. There will be a full YouTube video of this later this year when hopefully he has achieved that goal. Neil has a long and complex history of hip pain ongoing for 20 years prior to seeing me. I am just going to briefly summarise this for the purpose of it not being too long but long and the short of it is that Neil had a very arthritic hip subsequent to a life of being in the army and an avid athlete in various forms. Working alongside a surgeon like @DamianGriffin means that I have the ability to rehab people like Neil back to where they want to get to. We are still in the early stages having been NWB for 6 weeks post op due to a greater trochanter osteotomy as part of the hip resurfacing, but progress is going well, but plenty more to do! Hopefully anyone seeing this in a similar position can see that arthroplasty doesn’t mean the end. It is the new beginning.
