Here's how I handle subs in MyNBA:
• Set player minutes
• Set substitution to AUTO
• Set substitution method to ROTATION
• Match bench depth to # of players I play
• Set lineup performance factor to 100

In MyNBA settings, I always set:
- Number of games to 82
- Quarter length to 12 minute quarters
I do this because it matches the real life NBA.
You don't have to play every game just because you set it for 82 games.

Back in the day, NBA2K had a mode called Create-a-Legend:
You can re-create this.
Heres how:
• Choose your favorite young player

Salary Cap 101
In MyNBA, there are two salary cap numbers:
1. The salary cap ($136M)
2. The luxury tax threshold ($165M)
Teams can go over the salary cap using exceptions to the cap.
Teams pay a penalty once they exceed the luxury tax threshold.
Cap amounts adjust each year.

- The old GM is fired
- A new fictional GM is created
- This GM is hired by your team
You can edit this GM by going to the Front Office/General Manager/Edit GM.

I can negotiate a contract with Cade Cunningam between his 3rd and 4th season during the off season much easier.

REMINDER: During the MyNBA rookie signing period the game automatically declines to sign ALL 2nd round picks for EVERY team by DEFAULT including yours.
To sign your 2nd round pick, manually accept the deal.
Control the CPU teams to accept their 2nd rounders if it make sense.

Real life GM's don't have a "trade finder" to quickly negotiate trades.
Make MyGM more realistic. Make a house rule NOT to use trade finder.
This will force you to:
• Think thru each trade
• Identify trade partners
• Become a better GM

Here, you can see that Monty Williams preferred system is Pace & Space. Buy into the system and build your team with players that fit the system.
If you don't like the system, get a new coach!

It’s ridiculous that I PAY for league pass but can’t watch my home team or national TV games “live” on the app when they happen.
By the time they are available, I’ve watched the game highlights summary on YouTube and then I don’t bother.

I love Lillard but I think the Trail Blazers were smart to unload him.

Some tips to think about before adding expansion teams to your MyNBA:
• Don't add an odd number of teams
• Add equal teams to each conference
• Plan full expansion over several years
• You can have up to 6 expansion teams

I like to start with the small market teams that haven't won a championship.
A good example of that is the Grizzlies.

Teams that own the bird rights to a player can EXCEED the salary cap to re-sign that player during free agency.

Turn trades off until December 15 in your MyNBA each season.
There are 2 options:
• CPU trade offers
• CPU-CPU trades
Set both to OFF.
Once December 15 arrives each year, be sure to turn these back to ON.
This will provide a more realistic trade window.

In MyNBA, you can customize your entire league. Several years ago, I customized every team's name, logo and arena.
The downside to this level of customization is once the servers shut off for that particular NBA2K, you will lose your file.
It was fun though, while it lasted!

The Trading Block in MyNBA has three sections:
• Target list
• Trading block
• Untouchables
The CPU will ask about players on the trading block but won't ask about players marked untouchable.
NOTE: Team chemistry may be affected by putting player on the trading block.
