How old were you when you realized that the 'great discovery' in the title of 'The Great Discovery'
Is actually referring to Thomas discovering how important his friends are by the end of the plot
And not the literal discovery of the lost town that kickstarts the plot
Headcanon: Henry decided to strike alongside G&J out of group loyalty but to also secretly hide his poor steaming issues
Notice how he was the least vocal about it ie: letting Gordon speak for him
His big relapse then occurs directly after being allowed to work regularly again
Saying the E2's were a bad class purely because they failed at pulling passenger trains due to not being built for that work
is like saying Percy's useless because he can't pull an Express
With the CGI series being 14 years old.....that's 14 years of being irked by these downgrades to the Express coaches
(Thinner, Windows being the same on both sides, and somehow having less interior detail than narrow guage coaches)
We're all aware of coaches being reused & converted into camping sites, but what about brakevans?
Wasn't sure if any were ever done up, but a place in Sussex says otherwise 😄
Was there ever a reason for why Duck somehow had 6 old tenders? The way he screws Henry over with them is funny but....where did they come from anyways?
@ModelsSodor
I know Richard confirmed he's a tank engine but
This forever feels like the canon Barry
There was already gonna be a J94 anyways so why have two new *tank* engines
Hold up
The reason why James only crawls a little bit forward in 'A Close Shave'
He wasn't actually meant to leave in that moment, note the amount of people still on the platform
He was made aware of the runaway (phone) and was literally popping forward to avoid being hit by it
I know there's a huge Bill and Ben influence coming from liking these two, but can we appreciate just how smol these two engines are
Seeing them with coaches especially, is the funniest yet wholesome sight
An (almost) full circle in the fandom in terms of similar popular fanmade characters
2009: Green tender engine that kills Henry
2019: Green tender engine that considers Henry his best friend
(Also both cleverly modelled to fit the 'Thomas look')
People rag on CAE a lot, but when's the last time a special had the steam engines and diesels progressively hate each other in the plot to the point where they all throw down and began literally fighting each other
One criminally underrated thing I wouldve loved to have seen more in the series was 'mixed trains'
They look visually fun (and accurate to real life UK branch line operations in the past if i'm correct)
The beginning of Season 2 had Edward being laughed at during the daytime for failing to get a whole train to its destination
And the ending of Season 2 has him being respected during the night time for successfully bringing a whole train to its destination
Now you see it too
Obtained in 2002, and still capable of being a reliable runner for videos, this Thomas of mine is a golden one for sure.
Check out the newest video if you haven't already,
Anyone else able to find any differences between Sir Handel and Duncan in terms of character?
Only thing I've ever distinguished between them is that Sir Handel carefully plans his tricks whereas Duncan just tends to do stuff spontaneously
Definetely something worthy of the entire fandom's attention
Even with high quality being the norm for content nowadays, this honestly brings it to a new standard, every frame, music piece etc has so much care put into it
Well worth the watch!
Season 1 Old Coaches Appreciation tweet. Shame these never saw the light beyond one season; two sets of branch line coaches would've been nice for more variety throughout the show
(Also known as the shit train)
Another Pack spinoff thing I love is Thomas being utterly bewildered at the Pack members loving the job of knocking buildings down
He just remains forever baffled yet respectful towards his destructive pals' unusual mentalities that he will never truly understand
"That's a good engine, I'll call you Percy,"
"Yes Sir, thank you Sir,"
Hold up
What was Percy's original name then? Or did he even have a name before this? 🤔
I swear this is one of the most underrated modern day heritage railway moments
Dolgoch & Palmerston on dual guage track next to Tornado at a Llangollen Railway event in 2011
Hardly any images or videos exist of this rare pairing
Please post pictures of very small engines next to very big engines, doesn't matter the gauge, because it's very cute and funny.
Like this stuff. It's good.
Does anyone know why we've never had trucks smash to pieces in crashes since the switch to CGI?
Im not asking for faced trucks to be murdered onscreen again but it's especially frustrating to see instances where trucks should have been destroyed but instead they bounce unscathed
"He should stop making those silly shorts and make Season 5 already"
Honestly?
I don't think a S5 5 would even salvage his channel at this point due to the reputable damage he's done to himself
And this is coming from someone who loved the first 3 seasons
You know who I mean
So uh,
Can we talk about how Emily hated Whiff so much that she abandoned him and only wanted him back when she needed him to move 6 trucks
I would've laughed so hard if Whiff had gone "no fuck you" when she did eventually go looking for him
I'm starting to think himself did the Geoffrey crash the way it happened on purpose for the publicity because man, I've never seen a crash scene in the fandom be discussed and indirectly advertised this much in 24 hours
Self plug of the latest death scene I did while we're here
We all love Mad Bomber but,
Extreme shoutout to the sets in it, especially the main Sheds & yard. Seriously, this was filmed in *2000* and its still b e a u t i f u l
Most people: I wish I could watch S5 for the first time again
Me: I wish I could watch Busy Going Backwards without knowing Toad goes over the crossing four times before he reaches Gordon
(Note the 'tarmac' part of the tracks)
So, Victor,
Known for his friendly nature and job, nationality is a supporting trait only
Prominent character from intro to present
Given a great backstory in which a language barrier plays a part
Learns a new language
Can any other foreign engine honestly match this guy?
Nothing in this clip feels real I swear
>Custom Hornby Ryan
>A pristine condition 9F that only cost €35
>A fiancée that actively CHOSE of her own free will to sit down and play trains
>Me still agreeing to marry her despite using the phrases "choo choo" and "train conductor"
Well today was great.
Sadly time for some of us to go home now, just like Duncan 💔
Loved seeing everyone, never a disappointment coming to Talyllyn!

Screw the special coal continuity, this is one of the best HIT era episodes
Henry's struggle on attitude and his support for Gordon is so admirable, and Gordon's conflict & choosing the wellbeing of his friend over his own goal is such a wholesome moment
Plus tender swapping!
2014: Thomas frantically panics because he (rightfully, given the situation) thought Percy was about to leave Sodor with someone he just met
2018: Thomas leaves Sodor with someone he just met
It's shown that Thomas NEEDS a crew to run, and without a fireman, he goes a lot slower due to the driver doing both jobs before FC takes over
But later we see Thomas applying his brakes of his own will.
Not complaining but, how does this logic work? I'm confused
What should've been the S4 final episode
*Ends the way it started, a No1 engine telling others about rough times about a NG line in the past
*Has a nice cluster of engines together in the end just like the Xmas eps
*Concludes a continuity of Rheneas being away & coming home
Today I finally got to see an Irish (mainline) preserved engine for the first time!
While it was a sold out railtour on a brief stop, it was nonetheless lovely to see one of Ireland's preserved locos (V Class No. 85 Merlin) at long last
Hot take,
While I like the engines having crews, there are instances where the story works better as though they are self-driven
What I don't like though
Is when the drivers are shown to be present and doing stuff but the plot has them as nothing but an engine's mute hands
That new special that just came out was surprisingly good!
No bouncing, singing, fantasies or rushed pace, just a real down to earth Thomas story
Old Slow Coach was a very unexpected returnee also!
😜
Everyone talks about whether TFC was too harsh to Thomas or not in Lost Treasure
but never once have I seen anyone mention how its kinda sweet how Thomas looks to a father figure in his life for validation, with respective great-bad and bad-great arcs occuring simultaneously
Ok hear me out about rivets again
What if realistic details were used like so
If Thomas has to keep ditching Sodor, how about giving him railway-appropriate addons in each country like knuckleCouplers & cowcatchers? 🤔🙂
>Reason for extra details
>Toys

There was Bertie, fuming at the gates, while they sailed gaily through. "Goodbye Bertie!" called Thomas.
