This is a thread. 🧵 The K-12 School shooting database statistics are used in research, quoted by news organizations, and even used to form policy in the US. But how accurate is the information? Were there really 330 school shootings in 2024? I will be going through over 100 of the incidents he counted in 2024 with a screenshot of what he claimed happened from his interactive map, and I will type what what actually happened with a link to a source. I have attached a screenshot of his interactive map showing the 330 incidents together and a breakdown of his 2024 school shootings on a graph.

@NatlGunRights I’m hoping that my vpn will prevent the k12 school shooting database from doing the same to me. They twist their stats then do all they can to hide them. Bunch of cowards… Here is some of the 2024 data I collected on that database.

@Kittiesnliberty @GIFFORDS_org 100% they are, I went and looked at Texas and Nevada's numbers and motor vehicles were the leading cause of death in both 0-17 and 1-17 year olds in this time frame.

@daniel_debunker @ttxger @_opencv_ No, Building 12 at the school was the scene of the incident, not the entire school. What a terrible comparison, the building David was in was never targeted before, during or after the shooting. So your point is moot.

If someone is in a different building next to a bank that has a armed robbery, were they survivors of the armed bank robbery? If someone on the other side of a parking lot when someone is mugged, did they survive the mugging? A survivor is someone who was directly involved in or present at the scene of an incident, which David Hogg was not.

In my tweet never stated I believed the OP nor that I didn't think David Hogg was at the school, I merely stated I had heard 2 different scenarios. This community note supports my scenario 2 I posted. David Hogg is not a school shooting survivor, is absolute scum, and I hope only the worst for him.

@GIFFORDS_org I see you guys are spreading more disinformation like usual. Here are Nevada's numbers, per the CDC 2020-2022. I include children and teens ages 0-17 and ages 1-17. Firearms weren't the #1 cause in either groups.

@gunpolicy Whoever did this graph is stupid. I looked up Nevada on the CDC Wisqars site. The only way they get those numbers is by including adults. I did ages 0-17, and ages 1-17. Firearms were not the leading cause in either category for Nevada even by their own cherry picked dataset...
