Mass Migration and The Irish Prison Service - A short detailed 🧵 Twenty years ago, Ireland was 90% homogenous, by 2014 it was 82% and as per the last census in 2022, just 69%. Since the census another 230,000 migrants have arrived to Ireland (4%), meaning Ireland has undergone a 25% demographic change (65%) in just 20 years. Ireland is changing and rapidly, and anyone denying that mass migration is to blame is simply ill informed or lying. Anyone capable of critical thought will know this logically has an impact on social services in housing, health and education, but I want to focus on crime and the penal system. Five years ago on December 31st 2019, not knowing the hell that awaited us with covid lockdowns, mask mandates and draconian laws imposed upon us, our penal system was running at 94% capacity (4,244) v 112% capacity today (5,821) - 18% increase in 5 years. When you see @IrishPrisons Snapshot of Dec 19 vs Dec 24, it gives us some telling information. @SimonHarrisTD @LeoVaradkar @MichealMartinTD and @HMcEntee have all swore blind there is no link between mass migration (Ireland biggest demographic change remember), and violent crimes. Yet, the data contradicts their claims Dec 19 vs Dec 24 📈Homicides - 411 v 445 - 8% increase, and as confirmed only days ago, 1 in 3 Femicides are now by non-nationals. 📈Sexual offences - 447 v 733 - 63% increase‼️‼️ 📈Attempts / Threats to Murder - 423 v 705 - Also 60% increase I think most people would agree these 3 crimes are the most serious in nature, is that fair? Are the Irish and the Irish alone to blame for these frightening increases in violent crimes?
Ireland's Prison Population - PLEASE SHARE! The biggest demographic change Ireland has underwent in recent years, for anyone paying attention is mass immigration. Last year alone, in a 12 month period we under went a colossal 3.4% population increase. @HMcEntee @SimonHarrisTD @nealerichmond and countless others have stated there is no evidence that supports a link between crime and mass immigration. @IrishPrisons data that is readily available to the public puts that sentiment to the test. Today, the population in Irish prisons stands at 112%. 📉On 8th Dec 2023 - 105% 📉On 9th Dec 2022 - 99% 📉On 9th Dec 2021 - 87% 📉On 9th Dec 2020 - 86% I appreciate Covid played a significant factor in those lower figures and many prisoners were released early. However, the prison population: 📉On 9th Dec 2019 - 94% 📉On 10th Dec 2018 - 93% Even if we ignore the covid decline, we are still recording an approx increase of 19% in the prison population in 6 years. Are we expected to believe that there has been a marked increase in crimes in the indigenous population, even though it is the non national population that booms? And to further believe that booming community has had no detrimental impact on our judiciary and penal services? The evidence is undeniable. #IrelandisFull
